SIXAOLA RIVER KAYAK TOUR

Calm and easy river, no experience necessary. Travel by car to the village of Suretka, deep in the Bribri Indigenous Reserve. After an orientation on kayaks and river safety, float down the jungle river, enjoying sweeping mountain vistas along the way. Soon the river becomes the border between Costa Rica and Panama.

One stop on the Panama side to stretch and enjoy a light lunch. Then the final run of river ending in Bribri.

 Punta Uva Adventure

Duration:

Approx. 5 hours - from 9:00am to 2:00pm

Included:

Guide, equipment, transportation to/from Puerto Viejo, orientation, and dry bag.

Price:

$65 each for 2-4 people. $55 each 5-8. $50 each for 9 or more people

Bring:

Swim suit, sunscreen, sun hat, water, insect repellent, waterproof camera (we have a dry box and bag for your regular camera), a towel and dry change of clothing, rain jacket, windbreaker or poncho and/or fleece, cash for optional lunch and Panama shopping.

PUNTA UVA RIVER & OCEAN KAYAK TOUR

Easy float trip. We paddle slowly and quietly up the river looking for animals along the way including monkeys, sloths, turtles, Jesus Christ lizards, iguanas and birds. When we can go no further, turn around and float to Punta Uva beach.

Here, we ocean kayak out to see Grape Point (Punta Uva) and it's natural bridge. Ever wanted to Kayak Surf? The waves at the point are considered some of the best for kayak surfing. No experience needed; we'll help with pointers. Or you can forget ocean kayaking and swim in the friendly waves, hike to the point, or relax on the beach.

Option: Add snorkeling over the reefs at Punta Uva Beach for only $10 more! Includes snorkel, mask, snorkel guide and an extra hour.

 Sixaola Kayaking

Duration:

Approx. 3 hours. With snorkeling, approx. 4 hours

PUNTA MONA OCEAN KAYAK TOUR - (1-Day and 2-Day)

Paddle from Manzanillo to Punta Mona in the heart of the Gondoca-Manzanillo National Refuge - spectacular views the whole way.

In Punta Mona, enjoy some of the best Snorkeling in the area. Look for three kinds of Dolphin, tour the Punta Mona Permaculture farm (extra charge), hike in the refuge, or relax on the beach. After lunch we make our way back to Manzanillo.

On the 2-day tour, explore the Gandoca Lagoon - an opportunity to see manatees, crocodile, caiman, and other bird and animal species. In Leatherback Sea Turtle season, take a Turtle Tour and witness these giants come ashore to lay eggs (extra cost). Overnight at the farm, enjoy homegrown meals and hospitality.

1-Day: Approx. 6 hours. 2-Day: return at noon.

Sunset Kayak Tour

SUNSET KAYAK TOUR

The Sunset Kayak Tour begins in front of the Aventuras Bravas sales shack.

Paddle out through the Salsa Brava reef channel and head southeast to a beautiful rock island near Playa Cocles. Rising abruptly out of the sea, this island is a haven for numerous species of birds including the California brown pelican, snowy egret, heron and dove.

Going around the island, feel the energy as the sea rises, falls and explodes against the shear cliff wall. Depending on ocean conditions, swim, explore the island, or kayak surf at Playa Cocles. Paddling back into the sunset, enjoy the shimmering water and colorful landscapes of Puerto Viejo and Playa Negra.

Duration:

Approx. 2 hours. Launch 3:30 to 4:00 pm. Return 5:30 to 6:00 pm,

$20 each, minimum 2 people.

MOONLIGHT KAYAK TOUR

A very special evening is in store for you. There is nothing quite like kayaking on a mirror-like ocean under a bright moon, indeed a rare memory. And it's easy; almost anybody can do it. Conditions must be near perfect: flat sea, big moon and few clouds. Nature gives us only a couple of chances per year to experience the surreal beauty, excitement and romance of moonlight kayaking.

We'll follow the same route described above in the Sunset Tour, except on this night, the moon's reflection and the stars guide our way. On rare occasions, you can follow glowing green phosphorescence as the kayak carves through the water in front of you.

With small, forgiving waves on the way home, you can tryKayak Surfing!

We'll have a chance to stretch out on the beach, and then make our leisurely way back. We hit land again by Restaurant Stanford. If you like, you can enjoy a cold drink and raise your glass to a night well spent.

No experience necessary. We use sit-on-top kayaks, stable, easy to use, perfect for beginners. You will need moderate physical condition, no problem for most people, challenging for some, a great experience for all!

Approx. 2 hours. Departure times vary depending on the moon cycle. Ask for the latest schedule.
